Donald D about Cruise Scam

PO104

SHADOW99 RADIO STATION - Cruise scam! Beware! Called me and said I could win a free cruise. Need to answer music trivia quiz. Turned out to be very simple. (including whose album had the hit song "Thriller!"). I was declared a winner and he said the offer will expire within hours and I have to confirm by making port tax payment for 2 people. That would cost just $118. He was at his marketing best. I somehow shook him off and thought to report here to alert others on this forum

The messages declaring that you have won a cruise or a vacation, is a well planned scam. Scam artists set up computer system to spew out thousands of messages expecting potential victims to respond. Victims end up paying the so called tax or port fees of $59.95 x 2 apart from exposing their credit cards to potential misuse. Scammers will not reveal initially that you need to attend a sales promotion to receive cruise tickets.
