Same as above I received a letter & a check regarding that I won a lottery. I knew it was a scam!

From Star Financial Incorporated..........
Informed won lottery. Check enclosed for $2450.00. Required to send $1950.00 for a processing fee. Also noted that it said not to call anyone except the person listed and not to act on it till you contact this claims agent to avoid misappropriations, ect.

My aged mother received a latter from Star Financial Incorporated, (Telephone:18772136421)declaring her as winner of $250,000 consumers lottery. The letter shows they have offices in Los Angeles, London and even Cape Town! (Africa Connection!)

There is a processing fee of US$1950 which my mom has to pay and to help her pay it a check of $2500 is enclosed with the letter! Craziness? Well my mom called me up and I read through and asked her why the hell would they send $2500 if they need only $1000! And why send check back to a winner asking for processing fee?!

But she was not convinced, took her to her bank. The bank employee told her not to deposit the check but address a letter to bank for verification. Which she did. And in about a week’s time she was told the account does not exisit.

The scammers attempt was to get her to cash check instantly and in regular course the bank would detect the fraud after a week. By that time she would have sent $1000 from her account! BEWARE OF THIS SCAM!
