SPAM TEXTS PHISHING LINKS SMS SCAM

Sent me bogus cashier's check, and wanted me to buy three gift cards at different Wal-Mart stores. Then I was to e-mail them photos of both sides of these gift cards. I checked the check out, and even called the Columbia State Bank. Somehow, they had the right routing number, but it was in the wrong place, and the account number they used did not exist. I'm just saving it to show as an example of the kind of scams that are out there. I did write VOID across the check. Lesson Learned? What would you say? Ha Ha Ha, I hope they spent some money overnighting it through UPS.

Like everyone else, was sent a check. Smart enough not to fall for it, but did start doing a bit of research and found out almost a detailed location on where this particular number is coming from. If anyone is in Texas, they are in La Coste! Off Madona Lacoste rd, close to wisdom! The names associated are Charles Erlandson and Mark Dickerson!

Got a FedEx envelope in the mail with the offer from Market Research.com telling me to do a check on MoneyGram at 2 WalMarts in my area and buy a $50 item and take the fee out of the check and keep $300 for myself. It came at a good time, cause I needed some extra cash. So I went to my bank this morning. Bank manager said, Sorry, this is a scam. You cash it and in 3 days you're on the ticket for $2k. He apologized, I said no, thank you, I'll rack it up to another way I've been scammed. Thank you very much. I did send the people a message. I told them to be glad they don't live in my town, or they would be in the hospital right now.

Almost went through with it until I googled the email. They wanted me to deposit the check and do a Wal-Mart to Wal-Mart transfer. Thanks for the heads up. It really looks legit. The check really made me think.

Email/text got priority mail with assignment along with TFC check
everything on the check, checked out as far as I could verify.
TFC is not open on weekends.
As careful as I was to avoid a scam they got me anyway.

I can honestly say I HATE PEOPLE WHO CAN'T GET A REAL JOB AND HAVE TO SPEND THEIR LIVES RIPPING OTHERS OFF!
